i have a older homelite xl saw the thing wont stay running ive changed the fuel filter in the tank air filter is good it will fire up when I lock the throttle and half choke it just sits there and wont rev up when ya hit the throttle then it will run great as soon as I let off the throttle it pops and dies then wont restart pull on it and it has gas coming out the exhaust any help is appreciated
The fuel line might have a hole in it... That's what happened to my old one
carb probably needs cleaned, carb gasket could be leaking also, as said hole in fuel line.... but if your getting raw gas out of exhaust, sounds like it might be a spark issue.... might need a new coil......
hmmm ive had the whole thing completely tore apart ??? twice the spark is strong must be a fuel issue in the carb the line is good soo I can eliminate that I got 50.$$ into the saw and I cut 3 pickup loads of wood soo I think its going too get put on the shelf and go buy a new saw thanks for the input ==wgm
Fuel coming out the exhaust= stuck needle in the carb or
I had a main jet come unscrewed and end up in the bottom of the float bowl once... Bike ran, but ran like crap.
