Title: need some help on a chain saw

i have a older  homelite xl  saw the thing wont stay running  ive changed the fuel filter in the tank air filter is good  it will fire up when I lock the throttle and half choke   it just sits there  and wont rev up when ya hit the throttle  then it will run great  as soon as I let off the throttle it pops and dies  then wont restart pull on it  and it has gas coming out the exhaust  any help is appreciated

The fuel line might have a hole in it... That's what happened to my old one

carb probably needs cleaned, carb gasket could be leaking also, as said hole in fuel line.... but if your getting raw gas out of exhaust, sounds like it might be a spark issue.... might need a new coil......

hmmm  ive had the whole thing completely tore apart  ??? twice     the spark is strong     must be a fuel issue in the carb  the  line  is good soo I can eliminate that   I got 50.$$ into the saw and  I cut 3 pickup loads of wood  soo  I think its going too get put on the shelf and go buy a new saw   thanks for the input  ==wgm

Fuel coming out the exhaust= stuck needle in the carb or
I had a main jet come unscrewed and end up in the bottom of the float bowl once... Bike ran, but ran like crap.

hmm I will probably mess with it some  more  maybe on a day when I have more patience  lol

Ya just meant valve issue but reed got pit in automatically via not so smart phone

well unfortunately..... your not so smart phone messed up again loll  ...... sense it dont have valves either

 Need parts ??? I have 2 old xl saws i will sell for 30.00. u pick up in hartland mi. ??? ???
