the 400 will make the most power with the lowest rpm's displacement is teh cheepest way to make power,  you can make a lot of power with a smaller engine, but you gotta spin it faster, i have a 350 in my truck now, and it works fine makes good power and is fairly redundent i havea 400 sbc, and look foreward to actually running it, the overheating thing isn't even a concern, i'll just drill out the steam holes, seen dozens of 400 get used for a lot of things, and the only reason they overheat is because someone didn't think they needed the steam holes, or they used a 350 head gasket which doesn't have the holes, the holes aren't even hard to drill out .....

Just put a 12v cummins in it, that's all the power you'll need and then some

turbo. double your torque. end of story :D

theres no replacement for displacement

it all really depends on what ur budget is too. the 383 not really worth it IMO. its essentially the same as a 400, just a smaller bore and costs more to build. a rebuild 350 with flat tops, hot cam and a lil head work is cheap and ud prolly be really happy with it. same goes for a 400 but theyre getting harder to find so the block itself will cost more

You dont have to drill them 350 heads to use on a 400 if you use the right gaskets. I have a very torquey 2.2 in my S-10, ever thought about buildin one of those loll ;D
