ok so im getting a bogger soon and it doesnt have a engine as it sits. but i was throwing some cubin inches around my head  ;D.  engines that came to mind were: 350, 383, and 400.
this bogger is specifically setup for a SMALL BLOCK.
from the knowledge i have....

350s are a dime a dozen they can make pretty good power at a decent price lots of different types of upgrades u can do to them to make alot of power

now 383s i do not know to much about them but i do know that it is a 350 with a 400 crank bored .030 over block needs alot of clearancing blah blah blah all in all it comes out to being alot of money to build one

now 400s about the only info i know on them is they "supposedly" over heat. thats about it.

so in your guys opinions what would you build??

I got a 355 now works good but i got tons of $$$$ in it.. had a 383 worked good more bottom end than the 355 but less top end and again I had tons of $$ in it... as for the 400 I have seen a ton of them run at the boggs seem to work good I would like to build one next!

I currectly run a 400 sbc and do not have any overheating issues now, but ive replaced the stock 7 blade clutch fan with 2 10in 2000 cfm electric fans..  Love the 400 but shes old and tired with 300k + miles on it..
Ive found a cheep (key word cheep) 350 sbc and having it punched out .030 over, good low end  cam and some head work being done.. Ive been woundering if i will notice a displacment change, should be interesting ill keep ya posted...

Money is king when it comes to HP..

X2  I think a 406 would make a nice motor...the over heating issues are because people run 350 heads on them and don't drill the steam ports.
