When I first started using the computer, IMing and chatting in forums, it bugged the shlitz out of me when people didn't spell things out properly, or use proper punctuation.  I slowly learned what all the initials meant, and, eventually, found myself using some of the more common ones.  It saves time, and most of the initials are easy enough to figure out.  There were a few that took me a while to get, but I figured 'em out!  It's like short-hand or learning a new language, after you do it for a while you'll get it down cold!  Thanks for posting that list, it should help so we don't have to explain ourselves when we use initials!
