==shrug  What do you carry in your truck to get you out of a tight spot?

Mine has:

Hi-Lift
6' section of chain
tie down ratchet straps x2
tool box with standard hand tools (tire plug kit, elec tape, test light, extra nuts/bolts,)
4' wrecking bar
tow strap and screw type clevis's
flash light
propane torch
Duct tape
fire extinguisher
a buddy's phone #

Over the Edge Sharpening systems, cutlery, shear, scissor sharpening

It's all fun and games till someone gets knocked up.. down or out !
Gone postal.. back in a minute!

that kinda depends on where I'm going....If I'm going somewhere where I will remain fairly close to the tow rig, then I take 2 of everything I think I may need, and 1 of everything I dont think I will need....then I only have to borrow the minimum...(like gas...DOH!)

if I'm on the trails and nowhere near anything, and have to carry everything in the truck I'm wheeling, I'm a bit more picky about what I carry....I dont want to carry around a bunch of weight for no reason...thats when I will take only tools that fit my truck (preferably anything with multiple uses) certain spare parts that will need to be replaced on the trail if they fail (I'm never going to rebuild an engine on the side of the trail) and just enough fluids for 1 change of each (just in case)

basic tools in my sami would be fire ext. and towstrap, screw driver, winch, and few fluids including a gallon of fresh water  the rest of other tools stays in my tow rig and the situation would be different if i plan to be more than 5 miles away from my tow rig,   more tools would be on board...  and if i m far away from home like going up north wheeling  sometime if i feel uncomfortable i d bring generator and mig welder and air compressor.

-  2 spare cv shafts.........luckily I have never needed them but I have sold them trail side for 3x what I paid for them since to others who were less prepared.........and no I did not rip them off..........they set the price LOL

-  enough tools to change the cv's...........I am getting pretty good and quike at it since people who don't think to bring spares can't change them either LOL

- basic hand tools

- fluids..........I don't bring enough for a full change since i try to avoid deep water which lessen the chance of needing to change all the fluid.

- food and drink for me.............i need to be able to think strait when wrenching and that is difficult when you are hungry and dehidrated

My truck is pretty heavy when it is loaded but when you have drove the truck 800 + miles from home to wheel and you need it to make the same trip back home you better go prepared LOL
