Well spring is right around the corner, and much like all you GotMudders Im excited to get muddy again.
I would just like to say PLEASE DO NOT PLACE YOUR STRAPS OVER YOUR TRAILER HITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In attempt to pull out a stuck!!!  It Is extremely DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen one break off and rocket through a windshield just missing the occupants heads!!!!!!!!!  Its like a super sling shot!!  so please! please use the right equipment when extracting a vehicle!!!   be sure of your pull points whether its front or rear!!   Lets leave the trail in the same way! breathing!

trailer balls and hitches are for towing not truck recovery

Yes everyone plese be safe.  We had someone at one of our bogs try to use a chain when he was stuck.  I backed up to him and started to laugh when he tried to hook it to my truck.  Then I explain why you dont use chains. I also will try to use my own straps when ever pulling someone out.  Sometimes you just dont know how people take care of their stuff.  Better safe than sorry.

yeah, screw in are preferred, but its also the way its hooked up.

When hooking a clevis too a slide in/ insert type hitch (Reese ect.)  BEWARE the more drop the hitch has the more likely it is to break off and kill someone.  If at all possible a insert designed for a clevis would be best in my opinion

as long as you put the pin of the shackle into shear (pin and end), and not in tension (side to side) then you can use it for recovery. those pins are strong as hell, but if you try to pull it apart from the sides then you just asking for an accident.

using the ball on a hitch can be safe if the guy pulling your rig out doesnt Smash the gas peddle. I dont use chain anymore, too violent and it doesnt flex like a stretch strap does.

I always try to be safe.........and never throttle happy.....and always be aware of your surroundings.
