id wheel both.... i personally prefer an auto.. go balls out and let it shift the gears for ya!

clutches are nice to have at times (getting up on trailer when it doesnt run) both have advantages.... both have disadvantages...

run it til she blows

Crazymays77

same here. but the nice thing about a stick when mudding is that you have more torque right away.

Bigdaddy

i like an automatic.....
although like crazymays says, instant HP ,rev it to the top, release clutch, almost like NOS...

my DD gets better gas mileage being a 5speed. It does have quite a bit more torque, I  GotMud? in my own backyard once  by accident.

I got a auto in my trucks and its the only way to go I can shift when I want and how I want... but heathers jeep has a stick and it sucks loading on a trailer and boggin once your in a gear you are stuck there and you break 10 times more stuff with a stick...
Have no fear Better Beaters is here.

i've run both. prefer auto more gearing options .what i mean is put it in hi or low range and hit the go pedal vs. put in a gear and see if it will spin the tires.

ROCK

i have a stick in my 70 chevy c10 and absolutly hate it.  only thing nice is when you have to push start it but thats rare.

RIP_K52007

down side to a stick is you loose your mo-ment-ummm (spell check) in the mud between shifts. And like ^ they says, with and auto u jus put it in 2 and go.

Mudbuster

I've wheeled both I perfer an auto in the mud but I wouldn't hesitate to wheel a manual either I guess it's just personal preferance ==shrug wheel what you can find and aford it really doesn't matter as long as you've GotMud?

exactly, cant beat the gear ratios of the manual vs an auto... sm465 - 6.44 granny? or something like that.. TH350 1st, 2.62:1.... almost 3 times as low....
