THAT MUDFIT GUY

Yesterday i realized the importance of checking and recheckin your tow rig....

I loaded up the ramcharger and was headed out to Krazy 8s sons open house took off got about 1/2 mile down the road slowed down to make a turn and heard a loud bang  the reese reciever snapped off and the trailer went down

whenever I load my rig I always check and recheck my lights my tie downs my axles and tires on the trailer but never pay much attention to the tow rig  basic stuff like tires and lights but thats about it

I drive dump trucks and all sorts of equipment at work and doa inspection on them everytime i get in to go down the road....

Now i realize the importance of checking the tow rig as well as the trailer if i had checked my reese i would have seen someone had welded it along the way somewhere and probably wouldnt have used it  so i cant stress teh importance of checking ALL of your equipment when you get ready to go to a bog or trail ride

this could have been alot worse  no one was hurt and i was on a dirt road so the trailer slowed down and stopped when it dug in  but i was about 20 feet from turning on to a paved road  and it prolly wouldnt have turned out to well had i been there  but    this is just my opinion and take it for what its worth  but i know ill be triple checking my stuff everytime i go for now on                                        ill get pics later

yup, always good to look things over, one time i was unloadin yellow sami & hitch wasnt latched, the hitch hit my tailgate & was very lucky no one was hurt, it was the 1st bog i ever went to out at crazy 8s
bronco68 & his wife witnessed it, my wife was just standin there moments before the incident, the tailgate grazed her, i coulda hurt her or worse yet.... coulda killed her , i was sick over it... it was my 1st time pulling/owning a trailer,  i always check things out now !

I't a very good Idea. I blew a tire on my trailer once because I didn't check the tires before I left the house, if I would have checked I would have seen the fender was was bent and rubbing on the tire. Now I check the trailer the truck and everything in between. If's funny how it takes something bad to happen before you relize " I should have checked that".  I was pulling my trailer empty but still I should have checked it any way ( I do now..... everytime empty or not.)

I had a buddy load my trailer on his blazer and it came off when we went over a hill, glad we had safety chains on it, they saved the day. I double check everything I do with a trailer, check the lights every time I use it, etc. I sold a dead truck to a guy from craigslist and he forgot to hook up his trailer correctly and when he put the truck on it with his winch it snapped up and the tailgate caught it, at that point, I went inside and let him do it on his own since he wasn't being safe i did not want to get hurt, i did watch him from the window.
