95 cavalier

i bought my daughter a 95 cavalier with a 2.2 when the gas gauge gets down to 1/4 tank the car wants to stall it starts right back up but u have to keep your foot on the gas lightly  i already put in a new fuel pump and filter it is still doing it. happens more often when its hot out what do u think guys HELP!!!

when u put the fuel pump in did u check the tank see if there was any crap floating around the tank?
