would if i were to cut some older "junk leaf springs" into ohh lets say bout 10-20" pieces and get a new longer leaf centering bolt and bolt them on to the leafs i run now and it would be kinda like running blocks but much safer ya?

Lift blocks are a bad idea for a street vehicle due to the huge rotational load placed on them during heavy braking.  I've run front lift blocks for years in my bogger with ladder bars and have not had any issues.  I would suggest a different spring or drop your spring perches down from the frame to achieve the same effect.  The only reason I run front lift blocks is because I was BROKE when I put my axles in.

==dn why not just get the right springs and never have to worry about them?

well the way i look at it its just pritty much building ur own leafs..."add a leaf" if ya will ...many of them i was thinkin about stepin the pieces of leafs down start at like 20 inches and just subtract an inch for the next one down and so on ..i want to stack the bout 3" down more CAUSE I NEED THE LIFT AND IT IS CHEAP ALTERNATIVE!!!! and i cant offord any bigger leafs ....if someone out there has any lifted leafs ..and would be interested for trade for transmission or axles or tires i have a crap load of parts all are spares for my chevy..in good workin order

and plus the guy i had gotton the truck from lowerd the tcase down but have no clue how much the truck had a 8" lift all around before i got it he put the stock springs in cause he wanted to keep them  and 3" block remand in rear and the steering was dinked with to acount for the lift...plus i have the arm and crap for a bigger lift but i just need a good set of leafs but can only trade parts for some cause i have very little money going into it right now..ya see that ..bad thing

ok I,ll admit to it, I had 3" lift blocks on front & rear of my 86 Chevy since 88 along with 2 extra leafs added in the front & 4 extra leafs on the rear. I drove that truck everywhere including mudding it on the weekends. I sold the truck 3 years ago & the blocks are still under there today, never did have a problem with them at all.  They was homemade blocks & center pins welded together tho.  The lift was about 10" suspension & had 3" body lift, was able to fit 44x18.5x15s under it. quiett

ya ...i have a few of friends that run them in front .."there real ingenious" with comin up with cheap alteratives .....and im wonderin how much body lift blocks you can stack before it becomes a problem?i already acounted for the floor shifter length and steering.
