just let me know and i would like to see them. I would like to know how that would perform in the mud for the componets. i looked at that a while a go but i dont know what i want to do for fuel yet. the cad 472/500 are def low end  motors but they are a well built unit stock and have some umf.

there's a few guys up here running them in the mud, it's a sealed system, besides propane is 110-115 octane and my factory caddy mil is 10:1 compression, I'm going with 2 tanks for the weekends. I also found an adaptor to replace the BOP 400 with a chevy 400, it's from MTS , maximum torque specialties, also on www.500cid.com

Looking good! I'd love to have a FSJ on 2.5 tons.

Like i said, i work at the speed of dark, but on in to the night i go. Here are some more picks of the rims for the 66's.
A pile of parts,

retaining ring tacked in place,

outer ring welded on

close up

2 down,2 to go

Still need to  put the centers in and clean them up, but so far so good.

i'll wiegh them when they are done, but i will wager that they are 160 to 180lbs lighter a piece than yours. My 24x15's wiegh 92lbs a piece. and i know the flanges were 42lbs each and the centers are 31lbs. i did not wiegh the tube before i started but i dont think its over 50 lbs wich puts me about 165lbs compared to 380 to 400lbs for the stock ones.
you just really want the cut xt's im going to mount up on them. lol

blazentrout

Ok, i had a chance to wiegh them. They  come in at  207lbs each.

Thanks, i have 5 tons under it and i wieghed them after debraking them and the rear is 1,000lbs and the front is 1,130lbs.
Now A 2 1/2ton rockwell  are as follow
stock front-842lbs
narrowed/debraked front-662lbs
debraked front-682lbs
stock rear-692lbs
debraked rear-532

A dana60/70 open knuckle front end is 516lbs, so you be looking more like a 150lbs to go to 2 1/2tons. hope this helps.

Well, i got to thinking on how much welding/grinding i was going to have to do to box and fill in the holes on the frame, so i got stupid and decided to build a wilman style frame. here is a teaser shot:
