Proect: Roughneck, thinking about selling or trading for a 1 ton truck

OK so im finally posting up my project page...

The starting point (5-07)

1985 Chevy K10...350,700R4,208...d44/12b...6" lift...35/12.50 MTs...lots of lights...bed liner paint on whole truck...

Stage 1 (not much)

i add a set of 36/14.50 15 Swamper tsl radials

and now...

Stage 2

after having torn the spiders out of the 12b rear and snaping the pass side inner shafts in the d44 it was time to upgrade

Dana 60 with 5:13 gears, detroit locker, warn lock outs...14b with 5:13 gears, welded spiders, disk brakes...8"lift springs front, 6" springs 2" blocks rear...37/12.50 titan V treads...gettin rid of the cap

thanks to BigAl for the axles and springs...and thanks to garrett jerry for the tires...thanks Guys...

got the old axles out

got the front axle in, and put the tractors on to see what it will look like

and now i just need to get the disk brake mounts welded on the rear and the brake lines run on the axles then the rear will go in...will have more pics and updates later...

thanks guys...i cant wait to get it all done...

i got half the rear disk setup welded in today (thanks to eroq and big mike)...we would have had the whole thing done but when we got the backing plates from big al we accidently grabed 2 different ones...so i just gotta get the right one and it will be done...i tried to take a couple pics but they didnt come out...ill get some this week...

hey rick... you can put the axle in without the one brake on it.. be alot easier than rasslin with the axle rollin around

ok so i got a bit more done tonight...i got the front axle all together, only things left up front is to hook up my steering drag link (still lookin for the correct tie rod end) and the brakes, i got the bearings all greased and the driveshaft bolted in and shocks bolted up...

now i just need to find the right backing plate so i can weld it on and finish up the rear disk conversion, replace the pinion seal, and grease those bearings, then sling it under the truck, bolt everything up and lastly blead the brakes...

ok so ive been buisy workin on other stuff, but i hope to get back in the barn next week and get it finished up...just gotta get a few more parts...cant wait to see it sittin on all 4 tractors...

update 3-24-09

ok so i got the other backing plate welded in last night, got the brakes mounted, now i just need to reinstall the shafts, replace the pinion seal, and refill with fluid...then it will be ready to go under the truck, and i just need to hook up and bleed all the brakes, and get new ujoints installed on my shafts...im hopeing to have it ready in a week or 2...

ok so the rear axle is all finished up and now under the truck, all the brake lines are ran and hooked up, drive shafts are in...

its all buttoned up now, just charging the battery, then i gotta check and top off all the fluids, do a once over torque check, and its ready to bog...

ill get pics soon, once its runnin and pulled out of the barn

cant wait for the 25th now... OUTLAW BOGGERS ill be there...

well the truck is done...i pulled it out of the barn and took it for a test run down the road...

and got it all loaded up to roll out to outlaw...but dont have my tow rig quite ready yet so thankfully bigmike's gona tow it out there for me...Thanks Alot Buddy...
