Does anybody know how to put a tweak on some leaf springs with an exhaust bender? Is it just a straight forward stick it in a pipe bender and let 'er rip? Does anybody have a bender who would be willing to tweak a couple for me?

try using a press that you would use on bearings . that work good . you should put one more leaf in spring to keep the arch up. i work at a spring shop in ohio! a=f . ==google smith & springs inc.com.

I did a search. Are you guys referring to AKACOCKY? I sent off an email anyway. He's a 3 hour round trip but it would be worth it. Trent, I'll let you know if Ihear back from him.

Personally, I wouldnt waste my time with re arching springs again.  I did it once on my old CJ7... didnt last for crap.  And the springs were in good shape before, I just went from 35s to 39.5s and need some more room.

Also, I would l think you would want to add a little heat to make the process easier and less stressful on the springs.  I think just man handling them into shape wouldnt be a good idea.

I'm not too worried about hem sagging. I'm going to be running air helper springs in them as well. Also, I'm adding another lear to the pack to try and help it carry it's load better. What the situation is, I got a new spring pack that would eliminate the block. I have one leaf (the leaf I'm adding) that does not match the arch of the other leaves. So, I want to tweak it so all the springs are on the same page and not doing the "fan" when bolted together.

i just tryed doing this to my front springs it didnt work all that good  the minute i let the bender down they went back to the origenal shape so i then added 4 extra leafs to each side that were arched probilly 6in   and they all bent to the same shape as my origenal springs ((2 )3/4 ton springs +(4) 1/2 ton springs = about 4-6 inches when all put back in with the trucks weight on them )but is alot cheaper and easyer then buying bran new springs and with the way it sites right now it will clear the 35  i am  going to   run  and with with a little fender triming it could probilly clear 40s

just my 2 cents

Mudlight

had mine done in mio 5 years ago still have the same arch as when i got them back, they need to be rolled with pressure to have any good to the spring, cant see how putting pressure in one spot would do anygood

If someone does do this... take it to a spring shop and have them re arch.  Pretty sure to do t right you should use heat also.

In need of a yank strap?  PM me... I have 'em!

heat takes out the temper.and makes the spring effect ALOT weaker.. try michigan truck spring in  saginaw

the harvester

badbowtie383

michigan truck dose it but i think it is a waist of time and money by the time you buy all the p00 and have them done you can buy new one and its safer
its not what you buy its what you build

Why is rearching unsafe? I'll have a 5 spring pack instead of 4 and all are heavier duty leaves than original. Also, I never mentioned before, but I'm only rearching for a 4" lift. Not something huge.

Oh, and I don't know if I mentioned before, but I'm only looking to get one single spring rearched. The rest are already to go. Only the one that I'm adding for additional strength is not at a matched arch.
