Does anybody here take their trucks to any pulls?

I'm getting into this "Build the camo truck to do everything" mode and the latest is truck pulls. I've got a set of 7" wide 16.5 rims and am thinking of getting some old, super meaty tires for it to take the old girl to the pulls once or twice a year. What kind of tires do you guys think would work best? Maybe some v tread skid steer tires?

good question, i too am going through this stage...i wonder if they make a supercharger for the tbi 350???

TBigLug

I thought about the wideness thing, but, depending on the horsepower, alot of guys I've seen are using the narrower more aggressive tire. I'm gonna use the Hummer tires for the first pulls I go to but was curious if I can find a use for these skinny wheels.

i'm thinking it would be better to beef up to a 3/4 ton so i would have to worry about the 1/2 ton axles and tranny being strong enough.

TBigLug

With the step side though, you could do like I'm doing with the camo truck and swap out the axles for one tons, and driveline for a beefier unit. I want to put in a TH400 and NP205 next year. My some-timers is kicking in. What were the stats on your stepside?

BadF-150

i may try to sell it and upgrade to this even though it is still a half ton, http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/cto/1033521879.html  but man those 5.4's have balls

TBigLug

Aww no, can't downgrade to a Ford! ==jk I think you're truck would be a sweet puller with a few upgrades.

yah, i may beef it up. i at least want air bags in the back and another 3 inches of lift with some bfg a/t's or truxxus sts. and eventually the supercharger from tbi-superchargers.com. but i want to keep a good ride quality for driving back from ohio on some weekends. or we can trade and you can use those axles for a sas on my truck....
