Well, I hate this time of year. The ideas for the summer start swirling and tax return money is burning a hole. So here's my next idea.

Since I'm going to make my camo truck do-it-all, I want to make up some ladder bars to eliminate spring wrap while I'm towing or PULLING. Can you guys that made up your own post some pics so i can get some ideas? Any recommendations or warnigns of what to watch out for?

Or would a traction bar suffice?

This is the second one I've seen with a shackle on the front. What thickness of tube did you use? Would a square tube work as good or is the circular tube better?

It's pretty thick I don't know for sure I do know it's the same as they use for tierod's on semi's ;) I have conections ;)  square tube should work just fine I'd just make sure it's about 1/4 inch thick to make sure it doesn't bend.  The shackle is why it still flexes so good  quiett

This is the second truck I have made this style for.  I mounted mine on top and have never had any problems.

just one more

i just bought a length of 1 1/4 square tube with 3/16 wall that i'm building mine with.
and i'm planning on making them similar to the first example, because i'v been told
that if you do not have the exact measurements and go with solid mounts that it will
actualy limit your suspension travel

Theres lots of different styles out there, Im not into rock crawling so I wasnt concerned with having a ton of travel, I built a bogger.....Period...In my ladder bar design I built what I felt could hold up to a Big block, 44's and a lot of abuse without twisting the rear housing up,  which is what ladder bars are for.    I used these same style bars on my old bogger for 6 years with no rear axle or driveshaft problems, ever.
