didnt try that yet
Thats why I said if ya really have too you need two relays a toggle switch and a push button switch. One relay will be your ignition on controlled by toggle switch so it is either ON or OFF (Power to the coil) and the other relay will use the push button to energize the starter. You will have to use relays if you do this to avoid melting your switches or wires. I would do everything you can to find the short first though.

i will but i never use relays and havent had a problem yet

ive never used relays on push button system either i always just use big enough wire lol     ya corey id cut out that fusible link p00  and go from there

so i changed the starter relay and that wasnt it. i'm thinking if i unplug the wire from the starter and hook the wire inside the truck that is for the starter to power and then find what all has power when that wire is hot and then maybe i can find out what is wrong. or maybe i can leave that wire hot and run a new wire to the starter. but then i have to figure out why it will die when i take it out of park. i guess no one has a clue about this either. oh well i will figure it out someday.

Crazymays77

ok i got it wired so it will stay running.... but when i take it out of park it dies. anyone have a clue on that? If i can bypass what ever is doing that then i will be fine. i'm thinking its the neutral switch acting up. gonna try to remove it all together and see what happens.

Here's what I think.  You may have a ballast resister in your ignition system.  When the key is in the start position the ballast resistor is bypassed and the coil gets 12 volts to start.  When you key is in the run position it sends voltage through the ballast resistor knocking the voltage to the coil down to 9 volts.  Ballast resistors are usually white ceramic looking things mounted to the fire wall or fender.  It will have a terminal on each end of it.  To test it place the key in the run position and check voltage on each side of the resistor.  12 volts in and ~7-9 volts out is what you are looking for.  12 volt in and nothing out means you have a bad ballast.  If this doesn't work pm me and I will see what I can do.

ok so now i found out that when i put it into gear it is killing the power to the fuel pump. i dont know what else its killing power too but thats what i found out for now.

Crazymays77

I got it to run and move now. something with the neutral switch. i just wired it up so the computer thinks its in park all the time. I'm wondering if its dirty and needs to be cleaned out or something. only thing i cant get is why does the wire that kicks the starter in run the fuel pump also. so if i touch that wire to a hot it starts it but when i take it off so the starter isnt engaged it kill power to the fuel pump. so how do i wire it back to normal and then wire the fuel pump seperate. i cant just run a wire to the pump. it has to go thru the relay right? anyone know the answer to that question?

Econo-box from Hell

Something is not right.  I've never seen a fuel pump wired into a neutral safety switch.  I would guess you have a crushed / worn through wiring harness and you are getting (or not getting) voltage into the wrong wires.
