will the rear 373 gears from a 74 laguna with an 8.5 10 rear work in a stock 83 chevy truck with a 2wd half ton rear?

As long as the truck rear end is 8.5 also, I used a set of 3:73 out of a truck axle and put it in a '74 Monte 8.5 rear axle and it fit fine.

the gears will fitt but the spline count on the shaft is differant on a lot of them but the spider gears are easy to change if you have both axle sitting right there you might not have to i did i put a truck carier in my car it fitt got it all toghther and found out  the axle shafts just spin freely they didnt even touch the spiders i had to get smaller splind spiders you might get lucky and not have to
its not what you buy its what you build
