IM PLANNING ON DOING A STRAIGHT AXLE CONVERSION ON MY 98 Z71. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DO THE FRONT END SET UP FOR SPRINGS. BUT IF I USE A TRANSFERCASE FROM AN OLDER CHEVY, LIKE AN 85 CHEVY, AND USE A GM FRONT SO DRIVESHAFTS WILL BE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, WILL THAT WORK?

yes that will work.  that is how i was going to do it to my 91 when it was in the plans of doing a sas.  but here is a website where you can order all the mounting brackets and all that is needed to make this possible.    http://www.sky-manufacturing.com/new/

one good thing about the crossmember you get from them is when you bolt/weld it in  you get 6inchs of lift with a stock set of front leaf springs vs the 4 inchs you would get with just using the mount brackets off a parts truck if u did that.  only down fall is the price of it.   but that was the way i was going to go when i was going to do it.

you could just use a solid ford front axle, the pumpkin would be on the drivers side and you wouldnt have to get another transfer case,
i dont have a mud bogging problem, i got it under control

yep, that is exactly what i did to my 98, i love it!! just keep in mind that the rear springs are very expensive! i paid $725 for some 5 1/2" lift springs and used a 3" block
A bad day of wheelin is better than a good day of workin

get this and use a ford dana 44 or dana 60 front axle...then you don't have to change your tcase...
I would get a matching set of 3/4 ton axles....You will need leaf springs for a 73-87 chevy for this kit. and some shocks...relocate shock mounts in the front.
and more parts depending on how much lift you want.
