i put a motor in the wifes 01 lumina back in december. well it has a bad miss. took it to autozone and they said it has a misfire on cylinder one. so i check the plug wire and that is on all the way and looks good. i pulled the plug out and check for compression and it has some. didnt use a tester though. i changed the coil pack for that cylinder and it didnt make a difference. As of right now im not sure whats up. i can take the plug wife off and it runs exactly the same so number 1 cylinder definitly isnt working. Im wondering if the circuit bored that the coil packs sit on could be bad, but im not sure. im gonna change that today or tomorrow and see what happens. does anyone else have any idea's? thanks  GotMud?

had the same thing happen on my old buick. i tryed everyhting and belive it or no the plugwire (i thought was good) was pulled lose in the center of the wire. i put a new one on and the miss quit!

Forsure try a new plug wire. It could also be the fuel injector for that cylinder (If it has port fuel injection) that will show up as a misfire code.

unless its a new motor it might have a bent valve

the control module can cause this problem i think auto zone can check it for you
