Has anyone ever heard of pouring water into the engine to clean it?

one thing to remember is that water does not compress like gas and if you give it to big of a "drink" you could bend a rod!

this is a very old school trick, and that's NOT the right way to do it.

Use a small spray bottle filled with water, and put a fine mist of water into the engine. Never put liquid water in an engine in large amounts, it will cause hydro lock and blow a piston. You can also do the same thing with any flameable cleaner, like carb clean and it will clean out the carbon as well.

ive done it... not sure if it worked or not... motor still ran fine.. it smoked like crazy when i was puttin the water down the hole... so must have done something... water dont burn.. smoke had to be comin from somewhere and it wasnt blue.

basic idea behind it as i was told is the valves and etc. get hot then u dump cold water down there and it shocks the metal/carbon.. makes the carbon crack away from the valve and get burned in the combustion chamber.

like said above... if ya dump too much down at one time you run a risk of hydro locking the motor.
