I've always owned chevys ( I do have a jeep!!!)..........but all my 4x4's are lever control................when I bought a newer chevy truck years ago............I DID NOT WANT PUSH BUTTON 4x4..........and ended getting a 95 chevy with manual lever 4x4.

WHAT PROBLEMS HAVE YOU SEEN OR HAD WITH PUSH BUTTON 4x4??????

I dont like the the push buttons, It seams like anybody with a push button has problems or it dosent work..... The only ones i see that do work like there supposed to are new ones..... but after a few years seams like they just go to p00.... and i havent gotten that lazy were i cant lean forward and pull a lever to get it in 4 wheel yet!!!!

Never had a problem with push-button 4x4 in my bronco or my old explorer. But just a funny tidbit here. When through the car wash with the ram, and lady thought it was a stick shift because of the 4x4 lever lol. I do like the lever better tho.

I seen on another site where someone took the gear off the T-case motor and welded on a lever, cut a hole in his floor and did away with the push button. He also installed a posi-lok and tied that into the lever. Installed a boot and everything looked like factory but now everything is manual eliminating the t-case motor and all the vacuum crap...pretty sweet setup but now I cant find the site. I thought it was on s10forum but not sure?

Krush224

I had a 99 jimmy with push button, had it in the shop 3 times to get it out of 4 high, but it only did it when the wife would drive it!
its all fun and games as long as were gettin muddy chevvv

motersports3211

had tons of problems with mine. seems like the vac switch on the tcase likes to stick alot. took it back so many times i get free ones when i take it in. ive also had problems with the front diff vacumm actuator replaced that once too, which messed up my front diff from it not switching out.. works good now though. lol

Thats because of the vacuum crap! Get a posi-lok and that will solve all your problems.

mine isnt vaccuum. mine is the electric one that heats up. but yes that posi lock would fix it
