Here is the deal. I've been into mud bogging for a while now and haven't had the best of luck with my trucks lasting me a while haha. I recently just got into an accident with my truck in which totaled it out. The motor in it now (355) I had just installed and I'm wanting to put it into a 1986 camaro iroc-z that I picked up last week.

The motor that I put in my truck wasn't built up at all. Basically other than being a 355 it is stock. In the transition from my pickup to the camaro I would like to do some tweaks on it to give it a little more juice. I was wondering if anybody had some tips for me on this project like how big of a cam I can go with stock heads and what carb I should go with (its throttle body now)

any advice will be appreciated

HOW MUCH $$ IS YOUR BUDGET

ChevyZ71

I guess there really is no budget. I'm not looking to spend a whole lot of money. I plan on doing some hunting for parts on craigslist for the intake and carb but something like the cam I would want new. I have time to save for certain things I guess I'm trying to say

TO PICK RITE CAM U NEED TO KNOW TIRE SIZE , GEAR RATIO , VECH. WEIGHT,  TRANNY T CASE   . A DECENT SBC ON LOWER BUDGET BUILT  IS A SET OF VORTEC HEADS SELF ALINING  ROLLER ROCKERS ,AIR GAP INTAKE ,EDELBROCK CARB , AND 1 OF THE COMP CAM  4X4 EXTREM CAM'S TAKE CAM DEGREE IT  +10 DERES ITS A GREAT COMBO  good luck with build

what do you think the best rear end for the car would be? I've got a 4:11 in it now is that good enough?

Vortec heads with bee hive springs, comp cam 280H, edelbrock performer rpm intake and a holley 750 with 3.73 gears and 700r4 will put you in the 12's! I have the exact same combo except AFR heads and a reworked carb and am in the very deep 12's.
