I need to put a new set of rings in a 460 ford I was wondering if I can order the standard bore or if I need to order oversized
rings because I am going to hone the cylinders. right now there is no rod knocks but smokes really bad (oil) and there is gas in
the oil (blow by) but it has minimum compession I can turn the engine over with the fan belt using my hands.

The ring kit I'm ordering comes with ring, rod bearings, main bearings, and all seals and gaskets for 183.00 + tax

check you pistions   like  said above.   what if your  crank hase been turned ,  it  mite  be  .10  .20    or  .20  .20   you  mite  have to take it apart to  find out.

how  do you  know  everything is  standard ?

invest in a digital caliper...

no second guessing if its been bored or crank has been turned... look in the manual for specifications...

mudslayer2008

I guess I'll have to get a manual I don't have one for any ford let alone a 460 bb

Eroq

thatll give you all the bearing clearences and torque specs as well ==np
