Anyone tried one of the direct R12 replacements? Can you recommend a good one that works? I am not wanting to pay big dollars to have my A/C recharged with R12 and don't want to convert everything over to R134A.

i converted mine by myself.....you put different fittings on the low and high side of the A/C, vacuum it down, put the conversion oil in it and charge it.......20 bucks or so forddd

No converting needed man. Get a kit, comes with the adapter and just do it yourself. It's easy as hell to convert to 134a and way cheaper. Kits are sold at places like walmart and meijer. They have the oil and freon and the hose to get it inside the a/c system.
I was told you need to use different seals for 134A?

Alright I will give it a try and see what happens  ;D
