Donations at a Bogg

i am just wondering how other pople feel about "donating" when you go to a bogg. I understand we all are tearing the hell out of somones property, but sometimes I think the "donation" is reduculous. i can see if they are putting money back into the bogg to have the event go on, but usually they are not. A few porta potty's is usually nice, mowed grass, people organizing the chaos, water avaliable to clean a winshield etc. just those little things would make "donating way better" Don't get me wrong, I do not mind at all paying, i am just wondering if anyone else thinks some of these people are trying to get rich.

I don't think any of them are tying to get rich. Most of the time the money goes to portapotties or concessions or charity or for nothing else than hassle money. Usually it ends up costing 1/10 of what it would for a day of fun anywhere else.

i think if you wanna be there and have a good time and cause no trouble pay it and stop complaining...seriously....it makes me mad when people roll up to the gate and start complaining that its 10 dollars a car load....and som people are dumber yet and think they can just drive by..come on go to the races with a car load of people on 10 bucks ....wont get you far its the same thing....i mean seriously your there haveing  good time whats 10 bux

you also have to think about the heavy equipment they have to pull you out.. diesel fuel isnt cheap.. and the people that have the bogs have to get permits for the township and that cost money... so i have no problem dotating money..

If someone is letting people on their land to have fun, there shouldn't be any problem with donating money for any reason.  Even if it only goes to pay for their beer for the next month.  YOU are using THEIR land as entertainment.  Entertainment isn't always free.  Pay the $5 or $10 and have fun, otherwise go away.

Where else can you have a day of fun with the family and only pay 5 dollars.  You should be thankfull that they are letting you on the land to tear it up.  I have been to bogs where it cost 10 per person to get in and I will go back.  If people dont feel they should pay a donation they can always turn right back around and go home.  And like MIke said about the permits from teh township my township charges 200.00 for what they call an entertainment permit.  So if the land owner is trying to get some of his money back good for him.

i used to go to a bog south of fenton it was $20 bucks to run your truck $5 bucks for driver & $5 bucks a person/kid... & 3.50 a hotdog.... & got nothing in return, I dont complain to much, I just wont go back & show any support of that kinda bog

most bogs are a 5-10 buck donation, & at 10 bucks donation they feed you dinner of some sort, ussally a pig roast ,
i dont mind a 5 buck donation , lettin ya tear up there property & pullin ya out...

as i said... i dont complain, i just dont go back if i feel ripped off

I have been involved with putting on a bog & there is a lot to it, we had two 300+ pound hogs, 6 turkeys deep fried + all the other sides & all the keg beer you could drink, a dozer to pull out trucks, a place to wash your truck off, & People still bitched about paying $10.00 to get in, we were far from making any money, LOST Money

I agree wit everyone takes money to put all this on and it is really cheap entertainment, i love the boggs and 5-10 bucks is nothing when you are having a full day of fun. except when you break and then it costs a few hundred to fix, then it is not cheap, lol.  And i have never had a problem paying more than 5 or 10 buck, expecially whe they are cookin for ya. and supplying the beer? where is this one so i can be sure to attend, lol. have a good night everyone, i was not trying to raise anyones blood pressure, just wondering how people felt.

Dude! i am not complaining, if you would have read the whole post you would realize that i said i have NO PROBLEM AT ALL PAYING  i was just wondering what other people thought cause i have heard a lot of complaining about it lately. chill out!

we have had many free bogs   the money and time comes from the group puttin it on          5 -10 bucks a car load cool    10 bucks a person plus pay 4 the kids     usually i stay home        its my stuff i'm busted 4 them to have a good bog     any bogg with 20 plus trucks is ok with me      its something the whole family can enjoy     right bd.      its more good time good friends

I have NO problems with donations. I can't fire my truck up in my yard, rip the  outta it and fix it plus pay fines for 10-20 bucks. I'll gladly donate, but as stated above to be CHARGED a stupid amount to get my truck and family in  me off
because without the the trucks  whos going to come and pay to stand around and watch the mud dry out?
I also never try to expect anything because I am there doing what I like to do, but the pig is always a plus.
As for the idiots that just drive through the gates     drag them to the holes and use them for traction

LMAO...is this really a topic!!! How much we pay to go to the movies( include food and drinks)  per person and how long does that last.. 2 hrs tops Or how much do people pay a night to go to the bar It is fare to say $20 per person for a day a fun with freinds doing something we love... is worth the money!!

I do like to see porta pottieess at bogs , so we dont mind paying at all.
