broke the rear drive shaft yoke on the transfer case on saturday. Man those v-treads bite. Day was going great until i started pulling people out. pulled about 6 people out then i got the one drunk guy who puts it in drive( for who knows what reason) while I'm pulling him backwards and that was it . Can't get any bigger yokes so today i cut a spare one up and welded a 6"x6"x1/2" plate to it with nickel rod and am going to run big big joints. just putting a 1450 on there for now if it holds ill leave it. had a 1350 but i don't think it is rated for pulling people out with vtreads. Other than that the truck ran great had no problem turning the new tires.

Got all the fab on the new upper joint on the rear shaft. looks good when i turn it but it was to late to test it under power today. get some pics tom. and test it out tom. Think i'm going to add some driveshaft loops too.

Here are some pics of my new upper rear driveshaft design. Made the plate big enough to accept bigger joints if the 1410 doesn't hold up. Only used the 1410 because 3+3 had it laying around (thanks by the way stan). We will see if the 1410 yolks hold or not.

Got all the driveshaft to hold together and then other crap started breaking. Broke the trans at outlaw or at least I think it was there. Took out the sprag an then direct drive band was badly burned and the reason it lost all forward gears was the forward clutch shattered in 4 pieces. Took the trans to a great trans guy. Going to pick it up today. Well the truck was down I put the 2.5 toploaders in it. will get some pics tonight. Should be meaner than ever with the 2.5's. hopefully wont have to hold the right foot back anymore to stop massive breakage. Holt it to the floor and grab another gear now ( I hope).

Damn Grant, the truck has come along way since ya rolled it!  Looking real good! Run those V treeds with the 2.5's. Should be mean as hell, cant wait to see it run!

Ya ill probably go out there on labor day but NO DONUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trying to find some terra tires or some 48 v treads to run there. So i flipped the knucles on the 2.5 front axle to get the steering in the front so i can run my ladder bars. Put the trans in today that bear built for me. Front ladder bar mounts and pinion brakes and fluids left than run it saturday hopefully. Got some pics but having problems loading them, will load them later.

well, third pass at ellis road i shattered the forward clutch hub again i think.     Guess it wasnt just a freak thing. Going to call some race shops on monday to get a billet one i guess. hope this ends the breakage in the trans for now. From what the research tells me those hubs aren't breaking until about 1000 horse in drag cars. The only thing i can think of is that my truck is a heavy bytch. Cause i know i dont have 1000 horse.
