Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)
Liquified Natural Gas (LNG)
engines and other alternative fuel power systems

Anyone deal w/them.. doin research for work, it appears we are going to convert
to "alternative fuel" vehicles in the near future and I am involved in the project..
I have several websites I'm studying but would really like to speak with people that have first hand experience
on systems and components, dealing with conversions, or issues/ problems that would potentially be harmful to our transformation (ie.. current infastructure)

I think this would be a great way to power buses and garbage trucks. I don't see why taxis and other vehicles where it would be fill up at a set spot don't take advantage of this technology.

Used to run all the farm trucks on propane years ago, take a motor apart thats always been on propane and you wouldnt think it had ever ran cuz its so clean. There IS a loss of power from gasoline to propane, but not THAT much... ;D

Well, it's almost complete..
we have converted our entire tractor trailer fleet to CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) fuel,
yep, the same stuff you use to run your furnace in your house is now powering our tractor trailers up and down Michigan roads.

We are the 1st company in the U.S. to convert their entire fleet in one shot, we have our own on site fuel station and
M2 Freighliner tractors with.. get this.. Diesel engines with spark plugs made by Cummins/Westport.
CNG engines burn up to 50% cleaner than all other fueled engines, power ratio is a minimal loss (like less than 10%)
and here's the best part...

Diesel - $4 - $4.50 a gallon depending on where your at..
CNG - $1.90 yes that's right folks, the DGE (diesel gallon equivilant) is One dollar, Ninety cents per gallon.

Loss of MPG to date = Diesels - 6.5 to 6.8 mpg.  fleet avg.
CNG - 5.2 to 5.7 mpg with an expected half mile per gallon increase as we improve our operation.

Best of all - Tractors, engines, fuel -   ALL AMERICAN MADE
so.. to you dinosaur fuel makers (thats you EXXON, Mobile, B.P. and the entire middle east)  ==roll ==fa-q ==fo ==roll     ;D
