i couldnt find anything on ice fishing guideline about using atv or snowmobile... i got few guys with me this feb 5th on higgins lake and what i was gonna do is unload my atv off the 8 by 10 trailer and then hook the trailer to the atv and pile our stuff on the trailer and have few guys sit on the trailer as i haul across the ice... is that allowed? my father in law said yeah as long those rider has helmet.  if it was a small lake i wouldnt be asking this but higgins lake i dont wanna be bothered by the dnr. another question is open alchol beverage allow on the ice?  i figure dont drink n drive atv or snowmobile on ice obviously but what about having desinated driver on atv and haul rest of us drinker on  the trailer

pretty sure ORV sticker is required.
alcohol.. keep it in the shanty..
any on the ATV or trailer is bound to get you in trouble,
an extra serving of common sense would be good..
haulin people on the trailer.. eh.. coin toss, I can't say for sure but it will probably depend on the cop.

and wouldn't you just cut a hole an swim out anyhow???  kinda your M.O.  ;D

to ride my snowmobile  on the river i need a trail permit which is 35 bux...not sure about trailer but i can tell you the rule with snowmobiles is u can't ride more people than the vehicle allows....u need 2 up seat for rider. so if u pull a trailer if most likely would  have to have a seat for them to sit on if they wanted to be a dick about it they would probably give ya a ticket for it

CMUDFLY

you do not need a trail permit on rivers or lakes it only on snowmoible trails

I was at snowmoible safety yesterday if you are ice fishing and only on the ice u don't need a trail permit and if on a quad and is not a 2up you can not ride a pass. on it but no where about people ride on a sled or trailer

i'm confused....i live in st charles and i ride the river almost every weekend and they make us have a trail permit...so what i am wondering is do i or don't i need the trail sticker

CMUDFLY

If you are on the river to ice fish no. if you are just riding the river then yes. It says that any land you need a trail permit but if you are going out and you unload on the ice and go fishing then you don't need one.
