after we put the rear 14ff axle in the k5 I need a longer driveshaft in the rear.  Pretty sure its stock shaft now. I have a 208 case.  Slip yoke.  I need prob a couple inches longer and I know that that's more then shorting them.  I was wondering if I could run one off a 1/2 or 3/4 ton chevy.  Do all the older chevys have the same splines on the yoke? Or do I need another off of a 208 case.  Or can I just swap over my yoke on the other shaft?  Or should I just take my shaft somewhere to get lethened?  I drive on the road too so homemade is no good for me.

best bet is to just get one made, it's like 100 bucks, and then ya won't have any worries about driving distances with it

mabe if you got a longer one, then you or a buddy can take and cut it on the weld (dont mess up the seam) and tapit back into place, you should be able to do it, thats a little much for me ill take and have it done. around here its 275 a shaft

If one will work from a np203 i might have one for you up in whittemore... i put a 14ff in my k5 but i had the 3/4 tcase too. Theres also a guy in west branch that will take a longer driveshaft and shorten it to what you need for $50.

You should be able to re-use your old slip yoke.

You need a new rear drivesshaft made

As for U joints.......you might end up having to use a 1/2 ton / 3/4 ton u joint on one end or both.
