355s to 456s

i got a 94 f350 7.3idi e4od 355s and 36s gettin apx 10 mpgs when i had 285s on it i averaged 16mpgs was wondering if 456s wud be to much to make the truck less doggy or shud i go to 410s the truck is my dd but does do alot of heavy pulling so i guess the question is shud i go to a 410 or 456 to get my power and mpgs back

i had a 92 non turbo with 410s and got decent mpg also pulled 17k  but was not fast and hills slowed me down alot

4.56s might be a better choice. 36s are heavier tires than the stock ones, size isnt the only factor, and if ur doing alot of towing the lower ratios will help ya out. less strain on the motor=better mpgs

you want to take in to trans shop that is good have them put it on a scaner. i know that the powerstork has a mode that when the trans thanks some thing is wrong it go it to repair mod and dose not get good mileage. its some that the computer dose. i know that 1999 has that. not + on yours.

mine goes into limp mode (wont shift to first and slams when shifting)once in a while scaner says fipl switch but changed and adjusted that still does it tho maybe wireing idk i hate that trans
