my buddy had a problem with this a couple years ago, and it was a 'fix it' ticket, he put smaller tires on and had them re-measure. not sure if that still works, but they are usually looking for junk, not nice lifted rigs

Bolt on son 2.5 " steel to the bottom of the frame rails. It will keep ya 1/2 within the law.

I was looking at the thing what did ya have to give for it.

I Had My K5 On A 6" And 37's And The Only Time I Ever Caught Flak For It Was When I Got Pulled Over For Other Things But Never Got Any Tickets For It...Just Warnings

I traded my 2001 tahoe for it.I was tired of rebuilding the ifs every 3 mounths. So i thought i would be better with the bronco with the dana 60 front and rear

They shouldn't bother you as stated they are looking for junk not nice lifted trucks, my unkles blazer sits on 40in boggers and his frame is 32in from the ground and have had no problums, just don't act like a jackass with it we've been stopped for loud exhaust in it but that's it

The first thing i always do when you get done with project is , fine the nearest state patrol man haven coffie and donuts ask him what you need to fix or if youll even get in trouble. tell him ya just bought it and we wondering. just so you dont get a ticket.
My buddy did it with a 10 second nova on slicks, they said it looked fine just dont go burning your tires allover the place and we wont have a problem!

Heres the direct link to the law. I think if your rig looks clean and well-maintained, youll probably be ok. If it looks AFU and unsafe youll get stopped for sure, sooner or later.  ;D

Had state cop pull me over twice for lift law on my TJ with 35's

They measure in 8 spots, 6 on frame and 2 on bumpers.

I just laughed...I knew I was legal. 24" frame and 26" for bumpers on my jeep.

here's what i found

Sgt. Eric Johnson · Michigan Department of State Police · Special Operations Division · February, 1992
B A B
"HIGH RISE" VEHICLE LAW
Effective March 30, 1992
MCL 257.710c
Motor vehicles fall into one of two categories:
All vehicles must comply with both measurements!
PASSENGER VEHICLES:
Frame Height Bumper Height
12 inches 22 inches
A "passenger vehicle" includes all motor vehicles designed to carry 10 passengers or less, and vans that have a
GVWR of 5000 lbs. or less (most "mini-vans"), except a truck, motorcycle, or multipurpose passenger vehicle.
OTHER VEHICLES: Frame Height Bumper Height
Less than 4,501 pounds GVWR: 24 inches 26 inches
4,501 to 7,500 pounds GVWR: 24 inches 28 inches
7,501 to 10,000 pounds GVWR: 26 inches 30 inches
"Other vehicles" include pickup trucks, full size vans, and "multipurpose passenger vehicles", such as a Blazer, Bronco,
Jeep, etc., or other motor vehicles having a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or less.
ITEMS TO NOTE:
A bumper is now required on both the front and the rear of all passenger cars, pickup trucks, and multipurpose
passenger vehicles.
Frame height is measured to the bottom of the frame at a point midway between the front and rear axles. "Midway"
means the halfway point. This may or may not be the lowest part of the frame. See diagram, measurement "A".
Tires must be inflated to the manufacturer's recommended pressure.
Bumper height is measured at the highest point of the bottom of the bumper. See diagram, measurement "B".
If the bottom of the bumper cannot be identified due to vehicle design, measure from the bottom of the forwardmost or
rearmost portion of the bumper.
If a vehicle has an unaltered bumper that is in compliance with this section, it generally should not be necessary to
crawl under the vehicle to measure the frame height.
The methods in which a vehicle can have a raised or altered suspension is now strictly regulated. All components
must be factory manufactured, and must meet or exceed original manufacturer's specifications. A frame cannot be
added to or altered. All lift blocks must be of single piece construction, and cannot exceed 4 inches in height between
the rear axle and springs, or 3 inches between the body and frame. Refer to section 257.710c(4) of the Michigan
Vehicle Code for a complete list.
Section 257.714a of the Michigan Vehicle Code requires "commercial vehicles", which include pickup trucks, to have
MUDFLAPS unless the vehicle is constructed so as to prevent water and other road surface substances from being
thrown to the rear. Refer to the statute for specific information and exceptions.

hope this helps
