just wondered if chevy ever had a hgih pinion axle or was it just ford? havnt had much luck finding another ford d44 so i might get a different tcase and run a chevy axle.

im lifting my truck 6-7 inches and wondered wether it would make a difference with it being high pinion or no?

i believe high pinion means the pinion housing is on the top  the foremost ...  low pinion re on the low part of the hosuing but not whole alot of differences to me .. t case drop will solve this probllem or  double caridan u joints will solve ur drive shaft problem if any

its ford only. but you take one and cut the welds make into a chevy if you want to.

but why do all the work if your gunna run 6 or 7'' lift if you wheel it to hard the 10 bolt will give out i speek from experience, but i would run them under a s10 project anyday but anything 33'' and taller your going to probly hurt them, id try to trade them for 1 tons or be carefull and figure on trading them later down the road.

BigFrank

nope on the high pinion   dont put them ford parts on yer truck  itll give it a virus or somethin

mutt truck

I also agree to go with 1 tons... i used to wheel a k-5 stock with only a 305 in it and was only runnin bald 35 that measure to 33 and i couldn't keep a half ton axel under it. I went through 3 fronts and then a 12 bolt rear, after that put 1 tons under it and never had a problem again.

If u wanna wheel a bit have fun then drive home, one tons is the way to go.  Better to b safe then sorry.  U will break axles with a 10 bolt or a 44 even with 35s on a full size truck.
