92 chevy radio

i pulled the radio head(the one with all the buttons up by the guage cluster) but i couldnt figure out why there were so few wires, i pulled out the repair book and found out i have to pull somethin else out to be able to use it as a radio.... does that head connect into the cassette player part of it and the speaker wires come outta there? or is there some other box located somewhere else under the dash? i wanna rig somethin up so i have a radio in the garage

truck dont fit in the garage anymores lol and theres times i work on other things and the truck would just be in the way

All we do is yard sale for a radio, its easyer... just get an old boom box or soemthing, right now we got a cd player radio thing for house in garage with 6 speakers. works just fine.

idk i there was a thread somewhere in garage section 88-94 were three piece radios i think theres suin up under dash idk follow all wires

I know exactly what you are talking about, I'll check up on it later. I have a website that lists everything for radios I go to.

That radio in the chevy trucks is just stupid. Idk what they was thinkin bout when they made it bit geez how much crap ya gotta have.. theres the radio in the dash, the casette in the other side and the box above the gas pedal and it takes all of it hooked together to make it work, what a joke.. just go to the thrift store and get one

the radio (box) is under the dash with the speaker wires coming out of it, the part you pulled off is the control panel, most people pull out the equalizer/tape deck part in the middle of the dash to install after market radios in that spot. Then you can go junkyard hunting and find the panel out of a truck that didnt come with a radio.

wow.... didnt realize it would be that much of a pain in the you know what to make it work.... just had it layin around so i thought id try and do somethin with it, guess not! lol thanks for all the info guys!
