The ends are from my pettibones Jason, and as far as my mud protection Newbie, I used 1/8 inch abs plastic, It is pretty flexible when its warm and easy to clean.

Newbie

ok ill have to look into that! thanks.

Awsome, lots of engeneering there, hope the 2.5 ton center section holds up
The center sections always hold up Trent, It's the shafts that dont hold up. With the planets on the ends it will take a lot of stress of the shafts, Plus, I am running bigger shafts than stock. Besides, that is the whole point of this build, To use a center section that I can get parts for just in case I break it.

Oh thats kinda what I thought, are you planing on doin anything to the rear? Like rear steer?

3+3

Yes, doing the same exact thing on the rear, Just going to lock the rear steer until I get all the parts.

What's the point of the hybrid axle?  Weight reduction?

The planetary ends take stress off the shafts and the center chunk.  Plus gear reduction.  Plus the use of a center section that is cheap.

not to answer for ya... but.
In need of a yank strap?  PM me... I have 'em!

Blazin40s

Yeah ken, but he already had the planets mounted, wouldn't they b stronger then the hybred??  And I'm not trying to be a dick.  I really don't know loll

If he brakes a gear in the stock planetary axle it will be hard to find a replacement. Rock centers are alot easier to find.

Boggerram87

^Agreed! Plus It Will Cut Some Weight Down

And you can even go as far as a custom rock center for not too much.

Not to mention better driveline angles and aftermarket parts such as brakes, gurtles, lockers, ect. For example my pinion brakes are 100% hand built, custom. It took me major time to make them work properly. the pinion brakes for 2 1/2 ton are cheap and perfected already. Same reason most of all the monster trucks run the same parts. Plus its fun building stuff, Nobody will have these axles, Built by >ME<  ++peace
