ISOLATIONISM............mind our OWN GD business.

We cant even take care of our own Fkin peaple who are poor, cant find work......................but yet........lets get involved in another war that will end up lasting 8 GD years like IRAQ and Afganistan........with no end in sight.

When has there been a 50 year period in U.S. History where WE were not involved in war???????? there hasnt been!!!!!

you can't afford not to be involved...and if u think u can you r just p00 ing yourself. it will cost this country far more to do nothing which the educated people seem to understand. our freedom's we take for granted r not free and what some of u people call sticking our nose into stuff it doesn't belong is because you really don't understand how the world works and u should just say thankyou to the people that do and fight for the freedom's u take for granted everyday.

well if i was almighty king...

i would send in mercenaries to kill him, then have them kill and maim the rest of his supporters. they will get the point. any one that supports him, cut their left hand off, so the rebels of the country know who been screwing them for 40 years... i think they will know what to do when they see them.

hmmm.. just leave um' alone...
sit back an take care of our own
             don't get involved
             it's not our fight

   yada... yada...

If the bully on the playground has you in mind.. and he's bigger, meaner and has friends to back him up
I should just sit back and let him ???  ok, but remember when your crying for help (the rebels) while him and his
cronies are kickin you ... for your lunch money, you don't want my help.

He is a dictator that uses oppression/intimidation (that means he'll starve you, beat you up, not allow you the means to survive) to
maintain power.. he's been in power for over 40 yrs.. and is a wacked nut case!!

Sometimes.. steppin in and helping the lil' kid on the playground is the right thing to do.
and so far.. Obama says "no ground troops" we are assisting the rebel element to gain a stronger foot hold to fight their own fight.
I think the right thing to do is take care of our own country, the homeless kids, starving families, people losing their houses...we was once a super power and a country to be reckoned with, now we are broke, jobs are going to other countries every day, China owns us in more ways than one.

We are not even done paying for the billions spent in Iraq that we had to borrow...now what are we going to do borrow more money to invade Libya. I got an idea...have the country that is going to borrow us the money to do this invade them, they have the money we don't.

Iraq just pissed me off, we blow them up and then we spend billions of dollars rebuilding their country all the while still getting shot at and bombed and for what? Was it protecting our own interest?

If we blow a country up in a war then they should rebuild it themselves, or at the very least we should have taken every drop of Iraq's oil in exchange for services rendered. You don't enter a boxing match with the intent on breaking someones nose and when you do pay for their medical bill.

As far as our oil reserves go do you really think that is for us? When oil supply's run low the Government will sell it to the highest bidder, mark my words other countries will be getting a lot of that oil!

I agree on several of the "other " issues, taking care of our own etc..  don't get me wrong..
however... there are other "reasons" to be "assisting" in this remember, no ground troops have been committed (yet)
and according to Obama, none will.. asssitance has come from naval and airforce (from a distance) as well as our allies.. cruize missles and aircraft that's bout' it..
do you know who actually made the first strike ??? France, of all people.
Do you know WHY we are there ??? because the rebels (the ones fighting the dictator) asked for help.. really.. someone cried help in defeating a bully ( by imposing a no fly zone ).. and the Americans, British and French showed up, and somehow that makes US the bad guy ???

Now, if it turns out Obama does send in ground troops the game changes..
so far,  these assets we have dedicated  won't do much to help "our own" unless you need a job and want to join the Navy  ==shrug
W/ Iraq.. we were lied too in order to obtain the "ok" to invade.. and I don't see us "at war" with this.. we are assisting the rebels of that country get a foot hold.

From this mornings news:
Defense Secretary Robert Gates said the U.S. expects to turn control of the mission over to a coalition ? probably headed either by the French and British or by NATO ? "in a matter of days."

you both have great points on the matter, but i have 1 question. how many other countries are there in the world? where are they? why cant they say "well america, you guys do alot for us, so why dont you sit this one out, and we will take care of it." we do all this helping, but what do we get in return?
