Well I was suckered into the hype of E3 plugs haha. What I can say, we all have our moments. Put them in by hand and torqued em like I normally would, and it ran a little funny. So today I grabbed the torque wrench and put em all at 30, wow.....would barely run and couldn't drive it. Then I tried everywhere between 18-30 in 1lb increments. Long story short the truck is now not running, but I'm going to grab some Champion Iridum Truck Plugs since that's what I removed from it. I'll never buy another set in my life of those E3s...........

Anyone else have a similar or opposite experience with them?

OLD SCHOOL

Only plugs you should ever put in a dodge are   champion spark plugs & make sure you gap them right, never heard of anyone torqing down a spark plug? hows the cap & rotor?

Disturban

Ever since split fire plugs I have not fell for any of that better spark plug crap.

Replace everything with OEM!

Put the platinum champions in since that's all they had. Just started up. OMFG. Where has THIS 5.2 been? Seriously, started right up and I tapped the gas. MY THROTTLE RESPONSE is better than when I bought it. I thought this thing might have been a turd, I think it's needed a tune-up for a while. Soon to come. Wires, cap and rotor. Ignition coil. just wow.....I'm going to get my cash back at least. :)

==cl   and x2 on torquing spark plugs thats new one to me too lol

Well there is a REASON spark plugs are supposed to be torqued to specs. They are supposed to seat inside the combustion chamber at a specific depth. Why else would they recommend it? And my new policy is, if ain't broke don't try to effin fix it.

I have also recently heard from someone that the direction of the open side on the prong of the spark plug makes a difference. He said/ called it finding the plugs or something like that... wonder if anyone else ever heard of that?

while everything has a torque spec torqing a plug has nothing to do with indexing the gap.
, its done with small washers not a torque spec. you index the open side of the plug to direct the spark towards the intake valve.
supposedly optimizes fuel burn, dont see it making a differance on a stock engine though

Nope like damn ford said facing the direction toward the intake... i dunno if it actually works but that is what i heard.

I've read SOMEWHERE.....that it can give gains around 2hp stock and up to 10hp on mild modified engines. Not sure if it's true. But then again hp is kind of a funny thing. With all the back pressure talk and other things that aren't 100% accurate.
