Yep, read about this back a couple of years ago..
most of the rise is driven by Speculators and Futures investors.
In the market these are the people with the money...

We have all heard the don't buy gas for a day thing to teach them a lesson that would never work...however if everybody bought enough gas to get them by for a month right now and then boycotted buying gas for a whole month I bet that would drive down the prices, Exxon, BP and everyone else would be like WTF? Nobody is buying gas

if we bought a bunch or didn't buy any it wouldn't matter, thats a supply vs. demand tactic...Its these shmoes that are buying up all of the oil stock so it drives the price, especially since the dollar is so weak.  It really screws everyone.
