The kid has a bolt broke that holds the bracket for the sway bar on the sub frame, it broke flush to the frame, so today I drill it out and stick a easy out in it and wouldn't ya know it I broke the friggin thing off in the bolt...how can I get this out now? Last resort I am just going to put a bead of weld on it where the broken bolt is however I don't like to Jerry rig things unless I absolutely have to...not to mention it would be nice to be able to take the sway bar off in the future with out the use of a cut off wheel.

can you put a steel nut over it and weld the inside of it to the bolt?

Nope it is flush against the sub frame, however I might be able to weld the threaded end of a smaller bolt to it, I am going to try a die grinder with a carbide bur bit tomorrow, I just need to get in there maybe 1/2 deep thats about how far in the easy out is in there, then I will drill it will a bigger bit almost the same size as the bolt and try a larger easy out.

old school truck dude

You can take a very small bit and drill around the easy out and maybe get it along with weldin a nut to it, that might relieve enough pressure to let it turn loose. Its much better to use Snap-On titanium and cobalt left hand drill bits for this kinda stuff. They back the broken bolts out about half the time.. The easy out is real hard stuff, most drill bits walk on it n you cant get it started, but even a right hand one them might accidentally drill it

ezouts are brittle, if you can get someone to hold the punch, smack it real good with a hammer, it SHOULD shatter and fall out...

SHOULD but somehow i doubt it will..  drilling it out is yer next best bet... if that dont work    torch!

yep, they're brittle cause they are hardened.. tuff on drill bits..
but a good smack with a BFH and a center punch should shatter it..

Build up the end of the broken bolt with weld, place a washer over bolt/weld. Fill in hole of washer, weld a nut to washer and try to turn out.

I got it out, I ended up blasting a hole all the way through it with a plasma cutter basically burning right through the broken easy out, it was a 1/2 bolt so after using the plasma cutter I used a 7/16 drill bit and drilled all the way through it, then used a bigger easy out and with a little torque it broke loose and came out, then I chased the threads with a tap and installed the new bolt.
