ice87

my truck was put on the back burner but now its time to get to work again. got everything stripped off the frame and almost getting ready to primer and paint after some more rust removal. im glad i took it this far the spring bushng really needed replacing. i picked up everything to put disc brakes on the back also.

Looks like a very nice truck

If your just going to use it as a tow rig/dd then I would keep the dana 44 front. Shouldnt have any problems with it and parts are cheaper to replace when needed. Thats just my 2 cents though

yeah im staying with the 44. since it shouldnt be offroad that often

yeah restoring it since i barely any older chevys running around that arent full of rust holes. the 80s body is my favorite of all of them. i just wished that they made a extended cab back then

Scooterbob I looked at that stuff before but can it handle UV? I know I heard of a good frame paint but it turns gray if exposed to alot of sun.I can't remember the name of it

uv rays?? plan on drivin ur truck upside down??? thats bad a$$..lol

uv rays well maby ,,but any brand would after  so much time ... this u can put a top coat on if u wish for more protectant   have to do it when its tacky or after its dry got to skuff it up then u can top coat to protect better  ( i didnt)  or change the color

mines been done a year looks the same... but hasnt been out the garage either. lol...  had buch of that kinda stuff on line and on the can we can look at it this weeken..

this aint the best it works good    id say the" por 15 "is top of line .. if money no option....

No I don't plan on driving it upside down but I might have to run a body lift so that exposes the bottom of the frame.

KORNBREAD

Ive always used Rustolium gloss black brush on paint. Couple real thick coats and good to go. Usually holds up for a good 3 years before needing some refreshing.

The frame is going black. Thinking about painting some axle parts silver just to get another color under it
