Anyone know how to bleed on of them?  My Dad and I tried to bleed my rear brakes  after the resivor (sp) went dry and we can not get the air out of the lines.
I know some of the GM Kellsie Hayes units need a J-tool to do it but it does not look like the same one that is in my S-10 and that needs 2 valves depressed at the same time well you run the ABS Computer to pules the solenoids to bleed the air out of it and in to the lines.

Just want to turn of the ABS and Brake lights on the dash and hand bleeding is not cutting it right now.
Hokey Fab- Idea and Fab guy.

I just did the brakes on my moms Bonneville and used my friends power bleeder, they work great! I was skeptical at first because of the ABS valves but we bled the whole system and no abs light.

Stomp on her brakes hard enough and you will set off the air bags ==roll

its not the abs thats getting you on a 95, if the brake light is on its the proportioning valve. pump the peddle gently 3-4 times until you feel a little resistance never going further than 3/4 of the way down then give it a quick hard kick. it may take a little practice but once you turn the light off the fluid will flow. dont bottom the peddle out or you will kick the light back on

dunno who told you that but they lied. the only thing that will set off the air bag is crushing the intertia sensors in the bumpers

It was sarcasm...if you stomp on her brakes there is enough inertia set set off the air bag, joke, get it ha ha ==roll

Back on topic though I agree you probably have air all the way up past the proportion valve, power bleeder will solve that issue if the stomp on the pedal trick don't work.

Bleed it out today will have to find a nice day to put the truck back together and see how it all goes.
I know how to bleed the Master Cylinder and turn out the Brake light there. But it was the warning light plug that was hooked to the ABS unit that turned the light off and not the MC one.

But on most GM ABS units If the resivour (sp) goes empty and you get air into the ABS unit the unit itself must be bleed with the computer or hand held unit.

a 95 chev fullsize should have the kelsey hayse abs, not much to it and not much differant than standard brakes. ive literally done hundreds of body lines on 88-98 chevys and never had to mess with the abs. fill it up, kick the crap out of it to get the light out, never bottom the peddle and it should bleed. some have been a serious pita if the owner drove for a while with the light on but ive always been able to get the light out by working the peddle.
