2 Camp Lejeune marines killed in Afghanistan

A 19-year-old marine from Michigan has been killed while on combat operations in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense said Monday that Lance Cpl. Dominic Ciaramitaro of South Lyon was one of two soldiers who died Saturday.

Ciaramitaro and 23-year-old Sgt. Sean Callahan of Warrenton, Va., were part of an operation in Helmand province.

Both were assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
