We got a 1985 Chevy Suburban.
Our plan is to turn it into a dune toy.

Me and my dad flew down to Tennessee to pick it up, and drove it back to Michigan, not a problem.

What it started as.
A 1985 1/2 ton 4wheel drive Chevy Suburban from Texas.
350 motor w/ 700r tranny. Only 140k on the motor and 30k on the rebuilt tranny.

What where going to do to it.
Take the doors and tailgate off.
Take all of the rear back glass out.
Take the stock front and rear bumpers off.
Take the 350 and 700r out.
Put a truck step bumper on the back.
PuT A 400/205 in.
Junk the 1/2 axles.
Get a 60 under it.
FF 14 bolt.
Put a 3 inch body lift in.
Put a 8 inch susp lift.
Get 4 racing bucket seats.
Set up some sort of roll cage.
Add the Cowl hood we have.
Get 4 DIY4x tube doors. LineX'd tan.
Get 4 38 boogers, pro cut for the sand, buy racinginthedirt.com
And lastly, freshin up our 502, and put it in.
Mabye? Re-paint tan.

We have the 3 inch body lift on hand. Not sure when it will be in.

The doors and tailgate are for sale.
Along with the rally wheels.

Not trying to get all up in your cool-aid but I am just curious how much you paid for it because I am looking at getting something just like that in as nice of shape...just cant find nice old Chevy's in Michigan unless you want to pay 5k or more. I am probably going to be looking at southern states myself.

Thats a good find, I hope to find something in as good of shape for about the same price. I am looking to spend no more than $2000 on a clean 1989-91 3/4 ton Suburban or any year Chevy truck depending on condition, options, ect.

We went to Florida a while back and looked at some trucks a long the way and when we got down there but it was still tax season and everyone was trying to sell their junk....I think I am going to start looking again.

Got the 60 sitting in the front. Sometime later on, we will have to take out the 60 and the 14 bolt for the gears and everything to be re-done.
