Rear ended...new info 06/02/11

I was pulling up to a stop sign today which enters M59 in waterford, when I was rear ended. . I unlike a lot of people will always make a complete stop for fear of getting a ticket. The girl behind me assumed that I was going to roll the stop sign, as traffic was just clearing the road we were on. She looked left and assumed that I had made the right turn, and hit the gas! She slammed right into my trailer hitch with her 2011 Buick sedan. My bumper took a little abuse and got pushed in a bit, but her car was crunched!! Her fender, light and bumper were all broken and cracked and my hitch went through the bumper. I'm glad the hitch was there, but has this ever happened to you? Or did you rear end someone like she did?

I also found out that waterford twp. police now make YOU PAY FOR THE ACCIDENT REPORT!! $13, which I realize isn't a big deal, but they probably get thousands of these a year. I did nothing in this event and it is going to cost me money to get my truck fixed and buy the accident report!! B.S.!!!!

More BS!! I cannot even believe the news I received today...seems the person who hit me and admitted to me and the officer that she expected me to "go through the stop sign" is going to fight the ticket in court. I received a subpoena today for June 15th. I can't imagine what she is trying to do, other than possibly lessen the ticket fine or points?? What do you guys think. The report ( which I had to pay for ) shows her failure to stop within a safe stopping distance causing an accident. Also, I have to pay my deductible, which may cost more than the repairs to my truck, so that the insurance company will repair it, then, hopefully her insurance company will reimburse me for it "eventually....This just sucks....Good thing I had my hitch in, b/c this is all the damage my truck received and her car was MESSED UP!

if someone rear ended me in that kinda situation ide put it in R and F@#kin putter to the floor! ppl drive like asshats down there....

Had a lady rear end my 3/4 ton in a parking lot. She was all worried I was going to sue her and all she did was get some of her paint on my hitch. Her car on the other hand had some nice battle scars. LOL We just went our seperate ways.

I sat at a red light turning right and a guy assumed i was going to go and drove right out of a parking lot into the hitch of my sonoma.. did nothing to my truck and broke his grill I just shook my head n took off lol.

Everyone Gives Me Crap About Driving Around With That Big Ass Pintle Hitch On The Back Of Sunkist.....I Hope It Dont Happen But It If It Does Will Pay Off Someday

I've heard, but didn't look into the law, that you can be told to remove or be ticketed for having a hitch in while not hauling a trailer...A hitch has saved bunches of damage to 2 of my trucks so far so I say, I'm keeping one in!!

we do drive like asshats down here, its something to do with all the illinois people that come over, they rub off on us, ever drive in chicago, now that is some stupid driving lol

I had that happen to me last fall i was on hill road turning right at linden and.at the.stop light i was about to make a right but decide to let one more car go by and lady behind me must of watched my brake light as soon it was off she looked her left thinking she can beat that one more car that i was letting em go by first she ran into my rear of my cherokee. The.damage was a bit no biggie we went out our way

I was in my old p.o.s Ranger driving thru a parking lot. A lady hopped in her Saturn and didn't even look. Backed right in my door. It didn't do anything but one small nick on her plastic car. It caved my door in and put my head thru the side window. Of course she didn't have insurance. She gave me $200 cash. The dent came out with a good wack and I picked up a window for $20. So I ended up with $180 headache.

That's a bummer man. I would have been pretty upset if my head went through the window. I also would have asked her what would have happened had she run someone over and had no insurance...people need to pay attention!

the only accident have been in is a rollover and i wasnt driving...i got screwed on that...im messed up fer life...well i guess 2 a couple yrs ago i hit a ford 500 tht was parked in a non parking zone with my gocart.....broke the rim....and cracked the bumpercover....but that wsnt my fault

Yeah it sucked. It didn't hurt to bad, the window was down alittle. I felt bad because she was a old women. She probably didn't need to be driving.
