Depends on what you planned on useing it for.  If you wanted to build a frame out of it I'd so go a little heavier.

I would go at least 3/16's thick wall and 2x4 tube.

both trucks I brought to mid mi are built out of 1 1/2 x 3 .150 wall tubing  8) but ya have to run 10-14 point cage to tie it all together .if you want to run comp bogs a lot of tracks require 75% of oem frame or straight to unlimited class ???

Here is the problem, you need to define the mud truck you want to build. what works for a gutted zuk on toy axles will be diff then a full size crew cab long box sporting 70" tires with 5tons and planets.  I am working on design for a guy for a 'king sling' type truck, the main rails for it are going to be 2x3x.120 with 1.75/.120tube for the cage. so yes it is do able.
