I run a 302 out of a mustang in my Toyota 4runner with all Toyota drivetrain. Axles trans and tcase is all Toyota. I keep tearing up transmissions and t cases so I want to take and swap them out with something else and run my Toyota axles still. It has a passenger side drop in the front. If anyone has a idea for me or a parts list that would be very helpful. Thanks guys!

get a ford transmission and tcase that is pass drop. put that in there and get some driveshafts made to match the tcase and your axles.

I'm not sure what is a decent ford tranny or tcase to look for tho. Do u know what model number?

Crazymays77

Nope I don't mess with fords sorry

I think most Fords are DS drop, although I don't know a lot about fords.  GM 1987 and older (91 and older for K5 blazer/and 1 ton truck) are passenger side drop, np208, 205,203 all will work...not sure if that helps since you would have to either adapt them to a Ford transmission or put in a GM trans and adapt it to the 302.  maybe you could divorce the case?  or just go GM powertrain all the way and sell the 302?

will the trans bolt up to a small block? I'm not sure if they make different ones or not. If it will bolt to a 302, what do you have to have for the trans and possibly the stahl?

ford and dodge, had different bellhousings for small block and big block.with a chevy, one size fits all.

so to answer your question, if its a small block trans, it will bolt up ++peace

Damn fords. Lol also I've been told to find a 2wd short shaft for room for the driveshaft between the trans and divorced tcase.

Right now your running a Ford motor with Toyota Trans.  You can sell the Adapter that is allowing you to run that combo to some one off a Toyota Forum or put it on eBay.

What I would do it get either a C4 or C6 or if you want Overdrive an AOD and look for a Dana 20 or 300 out of a old CJ and pick up the adapter kit for it from either Advanced Adapters or Novak.  That way you can have a stronger Trans a very good PS drop t-case and not worry about it breaking on you.
Yea it will coast a bit but it will be a 1000 time nicer and more reliable for you than the current set up.
Hokey Fab- Idea and Fab guy.

you need 2wd c6 for 302/351w
