elec. and vac. help!!!! help,

got a 85 elcamino..guessin at 1 time had a v6 in it..now its got a carb v8...it runs and runs strong..but lot of vacum lines are off and all the old electrical is in a pyle ...

ok i tryed hookin vac lines all over the place just made it run like poo.. got the 1 from brake boost to intake .. center of edelbrock carb goin to pcv??  left bank caped and right bank
open...thats how it was ..line from dist. is off and tryed put on carb and ran like poo on both banks

wont even touch elec. stuff

there a place to find out all this stuff? or just need to find somone that can do it?

when i had vac advance i had it hooked to left port then tranny vac line hooked to right port. center port to pcv and ran the booster line to intake. mine runs good. sounds like your carb is really rich to run good without a port plugged.

the upper left port if timed vaccume, it enguages at like 1500 rpm and cuts out at around 3k, the lower right vaccume port is active at idol and cuts out around around 1500 rpm, you don't really need the pcv valve in your motor, a push in breether will be better for ya in the long run. so ya can run your brake booster off that and plug the one in the rear, or use that one as a tranny vaccume port since you don't have the one on your intake. the rest of the vaccume line ya probablly don't need, long as everything else works.. heater controls, ect ect....

 hooking vac lines to match my truck gotta get plug for intake ..to run brake boost to center port...but no matter what side i plug the vac line from dist. it wont run at all.

elec is my biggest dilema ..do i just start puliin them out and stop when somthin quits worken..or a simpler way?

get everything working first, then just remove what isn't being used, but seal the ends up so they can't arc over

follow the wires and if they end or are connected to something you dont need, pull em.
