7 dead in Grand Rapids

Holy crap this guy is nutz, he shot 7 people and then the cops found him and he lead them on a car chase all over the city, he at one point was right in front of the police stating on Fulton and Division and was shooting at the police and put a lot of rounds through a cop car, then took them on the freeway had about 50 cops chasing him, got out on foot and broke into someones home and is holding them hostage now. Where he is at now is about 8 blocks from where my Mom lives.

They have a bunch of places all over Grand Rapids closed off for crime scene investigations a bystander was shot in front of the police station in that shootout so the copcar was not the only victim.

my brother was watching the helicopters from his apartment ....I grew up in that area and my family still all live off Plainfield Ave...this kind of stuff never happens there   ....

The exodus of criminals from Detroit fleeing the city because even they don't want to live in their third world hell hole has affected the once peaceful suburbs from Detroit all the way up 75 to Midland county and beyond.

Born in Detroit in 68 I have watched this wave of trash roll over communities one by one, and there seems no end to the socialist agenda of hooking them all up on welfare to get some votes, while this works short time the end result is obvious, entire generations knowing nothing but the mailbox as a means of survival.

Look at Detroit it is a Democratic Disneyland we have as taxpayers poured billions into social welfare programs, and nothing but destruction and failure on all sides, we as a society need to end the open ended social programs that do nothing but create for the lack of better word slaves to the system for a vote.

Otherwise will we all be affected by this crime wave one way or another.

I would not go as far as saying another day...what this scumbag did even made top story on ABC world news now!

I was born and raised in GR and as the second largest city in Michigan it has a lot of crime also, I see shootings every day on the news just like any other large city but it is mostly in the hood.

Where this guy started his crime spree is not considered a high crime area the crime rate has grown over the last 10 - 20 years and just like Detroit people who live in the hood do not want to live there anymore and are branching out and bring with them the life style they learned in the hood.

I grew up on the West side and when I was a kid there was not one black person who lived in that neighborhood even though it was a poor section of Grand Rapids we kids could walk the streets after dark and not worry about anything and now it is full of want to be gangsters, crack dealers and police.

We are loosing jobs left and right in GR and they just closed the GM stamping plant (Sounds kind of familiar to flint huh) and the more these jobs that leave Michigan the more crime we can expect to see, Michigan as a whole is Doomed IMO.

sad to say.......but all true, nobody would convince me otherwise that Detroit has been ruined by blacks, Flint has gone that way also, GR seems to be next...............and I've been on the East side where the hood is at my brother lived there for a short tome................GD hoods fire bomb the small police stations they had,   gangster girls fight in the streets, local store robbed atleast once a month.........and mostly, if not all, done by blacks.

cant stand to drive down there like around division, monroe, and leonard streets. run down buildings and houses, cars on 24s, and everything else. cant wait to get my concealed carry permit.

I grew up on the NE side of Grand Rapids....I have always been afraid of the West side.....I went down town Grand Rapids for ArtPrize last year and that was the first time I walked down town in 25 years...
