who all has ac

 i dont have air conditioning but just woundering who all on here does. it is too hot to not have ac on in my house but when we try to use them they always turn to ice by the time the room just starts to cool off.

I have two window units..one in my bedroom and one in my living room..keeps the house cool

The key to the icing problem is they have to be level.

4 window unit as of right now  2 on first floor and two on 2nd floor still too warm in the house

The reason why they ice up is because you are trying to cool off an area more than the window unit can handle, sounds funny I know, you would think all the hot air would keep them from icing up but it doesn't. A good trick is to spray the evaporator with brake cleaner, this leaves a slight film on it and will prevent it from icing up. Been down this road before with window AC's.

1 window unit and it only takes the edge off.  Think I got it for $20 off a buddy a couple years ago so it might help if I got a new one.
