crank and rods ?

can u use a 6" rod on a stock 350 crank and what kinda pistons do u need, will stock compression height work. sbc

I have 6" rods in my 355.. gm forged crank. just gotta order the pistons for the longer rod... any head will work and you can use the dome, flat top or dish you need ( your heads and cam will tell ya if you need more or less dome)

technically you can, but it is a very very bad idea, with that long of a rod your wrist pin will be right in your ring pack... stock 350 rods are 5.7 inch, and 5.7 rods are the best choice for a 3.75 (400) crank

most guys I know with strokers have 6" rods and more and more guys with 350 are running them now! 6" rods are the way to go, ask any motor guy who builds BIG motors and they will tell ya for rpms go longer rods!!!

id think its the opposite. i think it would be easier to push and pull a shorter lighterweight rod, then a heavier, longer rod? esp at high rpms...

I dont know. every motor guys I know wont use anything but 6" rods when buying new they are stronger!

I dont know. every motor guys I know wont use anything but 6" rods when buying new they are stronger!

you are right. i researched it a bit, 6 inch rod, the piston doesnt have to move down as far in the bore, AND the piston for a 5.7 rod weighs more then a piston for a 6.0 rod. im guessing to make it stronger.
