1/2 ton front end to a one ton question ?????

Ok ive got an 83 chevy 1/2 ton short box with 6 in sup and 3 body my brother and i are gonna try to swich to 1 ton axels this winter i just was wondering how much of a pain its gonna be to swap the 1/2 ton front to a dana 60 is it just bolt in or a lot of fab or what and same with 14 bolt for rear ive ben told its fairly easy can anyone tell me for sure oh and btw i want to use the same springs  ......... Help please lol

dude wicked easy. 8 u bolts, pop the drag link off, brakes lines, drive shaft, and thats about it. the tons will bolt right back in place.

Chevy axles bolt right in.....rear shaft might need to be corrected

Should bolt right in easy, I had to shorten my front driveshaft though about 1 1/2"
98 blazer 388/350/208, 60 front,14ff rear, 4:88s, on 44s cut

So even if i use the 1/2 ton springs ? Cuz i cant buy new springs and axels lol

ya 1/2 1tons same width spring. 2 1/2" wide.

When you do it if you have to shorten driveshafts you can always lift the truck more to correct the length. Just drop your leaf spring mounts or get a shackle/hanger lift kit (very cheap) and it will be cheaper than getting new driveshafts.
